The Problem

At first, hearing that you can make content about anything you want sounds great.

But it isn't always helpful.

Paradox of choice kicks in.

There are so many options, you don't know where to begin.

It can actually stop you from starting.

I've struggled with this a lot over the last 12 months, so I understand the pain.

Here’s something that gave me enough guidance and structure to move forward:

Content pillars.

Content Pillars

Content pillars (or content buckets) are essentially the main categories you make content around.

Traditionally, you'd pick pillars that relate to your niche.

So, someone in fitness might pick:

  1. Nutrition
  2. Strength training
  3. Cardio

They could then break each pillar down into smaller content ideas.

Nutrition → diet plans, calorie-counting tips, etc.

Strength training → exercise tutorials and workout routines
