Okay, so what do content creators actually do?
They produce written, visual, video, and/or audio media, and then distribute it online to reach a target audience.
Put simply, you make stuff, and then you share it online.
The aim is to provide value to whoever you're trying to reach.
The purpose is to get peoples' attention and, in so doing, build awareness of your name, products, and/or services.
The desired outcome is to grow your personal or company brand, build an audience, and, ultimately, make money.
The answer to this question might seem obvious, but I think it's important.
Content is anything you publish online.
This was a helpful realization for me. Why?
Because it lowered the bar of what I thought I needed to produce.
For example:
If you scribble something in your notebook and post a photo of it on IG, then that's content.
Post a one-line observation about politics on Twitter or Threads?
That’s content.
Make a TikTok video of yourself doing a silly dance with friends?
Put together a slideshow for work?
Edit a meme to post on Reddit?
